One of the problems with having a smaller laundry room, is the lack of space to air-dry clothing. I honestly air-dry most of my clothing as well as a lot of my husband’s nicer work clothing. To do this, I was using two small expandable drying racks that stood on the floor. I would have to open these up every time I needed to dry clothing, and I realized that this was not an efficient process. In order to stream line the laundry process, I went in search of a better solution for hanging clothes to dry.
I did a bunch of research online and I kept coming back to the idea of a drying rack attached to the wall. This type of rack would save floor space and also eliminate the need to set it up and take it down each time I do laundry. Perfect!
There was only one small problem with my idea: it was more money than I wanted to spend. My husband and I had determined that the laundry room would be a great room to re-do, in part because of the low-cost. If we decided to purchase this drying rack, our budget would have to increase! I continued to look around for better options, but I couldn’t find any. We even toyed around with the idea of making our own!
I decided to go ahead and purchase a wall-mounted drying rack (despite the price), because (1) it had great reviews on several websites (2) it will make my life so much easier (3) it is a quality product that will last for a long time and (4) it really fit the theme of what I was trying to do with this room.
Here is the drying rack we purchased:
(You can purchase it here if you are interested.)
We have had it up for a couple of weeks now, and I can honestly say that I am so, so, SO happy with it! It has been worth every single penny.
I promise I will have some completed pictures of the rest of the laundry room soon — I have a couple of things arriving in the mail this week that should put the finishing touches on our re-done room!
Happy Monday! 🙂
xo,
Abby
