I hope you all had a wonderful weekend celebrating our risen Savior! I was listening to Chris Tomlin over the weekend and “Jesus, Son of God” came on, and I just stopped what I was doing — these words are SO perfect to encompass what He did for us on the cross and why we celebrate on Easter.
You took our sin
You bore our shame
You rose to life
You defeated the grave
A love like this, the world has never known
I can’t think of anything more amazing than what Jesus did for us all of those years ago and I am so grateful for His sacrifice.
We had a busy weekend celebrating with family, but before we did that we took little Gavyn to get his first haircut! I kept looking at him the whole time he was there and seriously wanted to burst into tears! How is he getting so grown up?! Gavyn was born just days after Easter last year, so this whole weekend has been really reflective for me! Last year on Easter I was comparing baby bumps with my sister (whose little guy was born just six weeks after Gavyn), and this year I am planning Gavyn’s first birthday party. Crazy, crazy! Anyhow, he did great with his first haircut and managed to sit still long enough, so yay for that!
Once Gavyn got his Doc Band off, I realized how long his hair really was and I am glad that we got it cut! On Saturday, we spent the day with both sets of our families and it was a really nice, but long day! Both kids were so exhausted!
I was able to make these adorable cupcakes for dessert…they are SO simple! I don’t even like Peeps, but these were so cute, it doesn’t matter!
We were able to get a few pictures on Easter Sunday before church:
(I love how much she loves Gavyn!)
And both kiddos enjoyed their Easter baskets (although, Gavyn was much more interested in the Easter grass…):
On a random side note, Pottery Barn Kids has free shipping today AND most of their Easter items are on sale! I had my eye on their Easter baskets (looooove them), and finally bought them today for next year — so make sure you check it out!
I hope your week is off to a great start!
xo,
Abby
